90° dip hold -> MHT

90° dip hold -> maximum hold time

Equipment needed: gym rings, chalk, stopwatch

Goal and measurement

The goal is to test the strength endurance of the arm extensors. The result you record is the time you hold the rings with your arms at the given angle.

Position

Set the gym rings to a comfortable height so that you can bend your arms at 90° (right angle). Keep the dip locked at an angle of 90° for as long as possible.

Procedure

If the arms bend more or less than 90°, the test ends. The test can be performed in 2-3 attempts to achieve the best result.
